Purvis Young, Young Purvis is a documentary in production about the most important black artist in Florida's history, Purvis Young of the Overtown district of Miami. He's highly revered and collected with work in the Smithsonian Collection, The Rubell Collection, the newly opened National Museum of African American Culture and Heritage, the Corcoran and over 60 museums He's collected by celebrities such as Jane Fonda, Daman Wayans, Lenny Kravitz, Jim Belushi, Dan Akroyd and more. The documentary "Purvis Young, Young Purvis" is the story of how one of Florida's most prolific and respected artists died penniless with an estate that is over $400 thousand dollars in debt while former managers and others made millions off of his work. It's a story of double cross, deception, truth and redemption.
